What is the UNWTO Knowledge Network?

The UNWTO Knowledge Network is an extensive research body of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) which aims to develop a worldwide association of institutions setting research and knowledge management standards on tourism analysis, policy and governance.

The UNWTO Knowledge Network was officially launched on January 2011 and it is established with the background of the former UNWTO Education and Science Council. As of May 2012, it is composed of over 125 institutions, organizations and enterprises from 40 different countries with a demonstrated research competency and extensive experience in development and innovation impinging on tourism. Through the UNTWTO Knowledge Network, members have a common space at their disposal to interact, share and access relevant information. More importantly, they benefit from an unparalleled platform to create, disseminate and apply their knowledge resources in a manner to play a prominent role in shaping the future of the tourism sector.
