The United Nations World Tourism Organization and the UNWTO Knowledge Network confer the UNWTO Ulysses Prize and Awards annually to highlight and showcase Innovation and Application of Knowledge in Tourism.

In doing so, they seek to recognize and stimulate knowledge creation, dissemination and innovative applications in tourism and to bring to light the latest advances in this area.

 Recognition is given in the following categories: 

The UNWTO Ulysses Prize is given to a distinguished researcher, whether in academia, government or private industry, for outstanding contributions to innovation and knowledge in tourism.

The UNWTO Ulysses Awards are granted to projects undertaken by public institutions, tourism enterprises and non-profit institutions which merit distinction for their innovative contributions to Tourism.UNWTO 2004 Ulysses Prize Recipient - Prof. Brent Ritchie

The UNWTO Ulysses Prize and Awards is a worldwide event highlighting knowledge
innovation and its application in all five UNWTO regions (the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Pacific, Africa and the Middle East).

 

 

 

 


How to participate?

 

If you wish to apply to the UNWTO Ulysses Awards, please download and read the general rules and requirements below and complete the application form. Once completed please send the form to innova@unwto.org.

The 2012 edition of the UNWTO Ulysses Prize and Awards is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2012.
