BRIGHTON UNIVERSITY - School of Sport and Service Management (SASM)/Centre of Sport, Tourism and Leisure Studies (CoSTaLS)
The University of Brighton (UoB) is a community of over 21,000 students and 2,600 staff based on five campuses in Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings. We have one of the best teaching quality ratings in the UK and a strong research record, factors which contribute to our reputation as a leading post-1992 university. The UoB has been recognised for producing research of “world-leading quality” which has “outstanding impact”, by the UK’s four higher education funding bodies and is a top 20 university for world-leading research impact in Sport, Exercise Sciences, Leisure and Tourism.
The School of Sport and Service Management (SASM) has built its reputation on a number of activities and engagements with international partners, local communities, students and graduates. The Centre of Sport, Tourism and Leisure Studies (CoSTaLS) -http://www.brighton.ac.uk/costals/index.aspx, conducts research to encourage, support and help develop sustainable futures centred on economic regeneration, ecological sensitivity, cultural awareness and preservation. We do this through planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes in sport, tourism, hospitality and leisure, and through conscious promotion of social justice, youth development and inclusivity within economically viable contexts. CoSTaLS aims to nurture all researchers’ advancement and to encourage new and early career researchers; we welcome visiting researchers and will aid and develop research students’ studies.'
